Democratic Populism Party is a movement that champions the voices and interests of regular Americans. We believe that America should be a country governed by the people, not by the billionaires and economic oligarchic elites who took over our government. This is the American Agenda, the Democratic Agenda.

Because billionaires are out of the shadows and are running America. Billionaires and oligarchs took over our government, money is the only driver for these individuals. This has a real chance to destroy America as we know it - oligarchs (billionaires tied in with government) subsume government resources and our taxes via preferential contracts and favorite treatments. Americans do not matter. Countless examples globally prove that oligarchs are bad for the economic opportunity for all. Moreover, oligarchic treatment reduces military readiness, operational efficiencies across all industries, and literally puts Citizens' lives in danger. Anti-trust activity must be revived and pursued aggressively to ensure economic success benefit all Americans.
Because the oligarchic takeover of America has happened before in the late 19th Century and in the early 20th Century. Democratic People's Party arose from the 19th Century lack of economic opportunity. And we hope everyone still remembers the result of the oligarchic relationships in early 20th Century - the Great Depression. Examples are available in the not too distant past - the Great Recession, when the government bailed out the banks and institutional investors, while the working Americans lost their life savings. And no meaningful long-term changes were made to our financial system. Democracy is a Voice/Vote, not money.
Because all deserve a chance to work hard to provide for their families. No one should be afraid to lose their job without another opportunity available. No one should be afraid to get sick because it can ruin their families financially. No one should want to break their backs in retirement age. When we take care of America to keep it Great, America should take care of us when we're ready. The oligarchs and billionaires are not America. They are the product of our work!
Overturning the Supreme Court's Citizen' United decision that allowed so-called political action committees (PAC) to collect unlimited money and fund their preferred candidates. In other words, the billionaires became able to buy influence with their candidate without accountability. This also allowed legally removed foreign entities to fund candidates and in turn gain influence on "elected" officials. This is WRONG. This is America. Democracy is our voice and our vote. One vote is not worth more because of how much money one contributes vs others! We need campaign finance reform now! Before it's too late.
We must do the following:
- Challenge corporate power: Propose legislation to break up monopolies, especially in the tech sector, and strengthen antitrust enforcement across all sectors.
- Address wealth inequality: Introduce a wealth tax on ultra-high-net-worth individuals and use the revenue to fund social programs such as education opportunities and care for the truly in need.
- Focus on working-class benefits: Advocate for a $20 minimum wage, indexed to inflation, and push for mandatory paid sick leave and vacation time for all workers no matter the industry.
We must support all people with the following:
- Target cost-of-living issues: Implement rent control measures in high-cost urban areas and expand housing voucher programs based on graduated income levels.
- Improve healthcare affordability: Improve the public option for health insurance to compete with private insurers and cap out-of-pocket expenses for prescription drugs.
- Address student debt: Introduce legislation for targeted student loan forgiveness for those earning under a certain income threshold and propose free community college education.
We must educate the electorate via the following:
- Confront economic elites: Hold public hearings on corporate tax avoidance and executive compensation, naming and shaming companies that engage in unfair practices.
- Position as system disruptors: Propose term limits for members of Congress and a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United.
- Fight entrenched interests: Introduce strict lobbying reforms, including a LIFETIME ban on former government officials becoming lobbyists.
We must ensure the governing institutions are accountable to us, the People:
- Propose bold systemic changes: Introduce a Green New Deal with specific job creation targets in renewable energy sectors.
- Transform key institutions: Propose expanding the Supreme Court and implementing 18-year term limits for justices.
- Commit to fundamental reform: Introduce ranked-choice voting for federal elections and propose abolishing the Electoral College through a constitutional amendment.
We have made great things in America and can do so again via:
- Strengthen domestic industry: Implement "Buy American" provisions in all federal contracts and increase funding for vocational training programs.
- Address globalization concerns: Propose renegotiating trade deals to include stronger labor and environmental protections, and introduce tariffs on countries that don't meet certain standards.
- Support American manufacturing: Create tax incentives for companies that relocate production to the U.S. and invest in domestic supply chain resilience.
We can do that by:
- Selecting authentic candidates: Prioritize candidates with working-class backgrounds or strong ties to their communities in party support and funding.
- Acknowledging voter frustrations: Hold town hall meetings in areas hit hard by deindustrialization and opioid crises, actively listening to and incorporating local concerns into policy proposals.
- Adopting direct communication: Encourage candidates to use social media platforms for unscripted, live interactions with voters, addressing concerns in real-time.
The TRUTH MATTERS. We must amend Section 230 of the Communication Decency Act. We can do this via narrowing liability protections:
- Amend Section 230 to hold social media platforms accountable for the spread of misinformation related to elections. This could involve creating specific standards for content moderation that require platforms to actively combat false information about voting procedures, candidate eligibility, and election dates.
- For example, platforms could be required to label or remove content that has been fact-checked and deemed false by independent organizations.
- Require social media companies to disclose their content moderation policies and the criteria used for removing or flagging posts. This transparency can help users understand how their information is curated and promote trust in the platform.
- Platforms could publish regular reports detailing the number of posts moderated, the reasons for moderation, and any patterns in misinformation related to elections.
- Mandate that social media platforms provide insights into how their algorithms prioritize content, especially regarding political advertisements and posts. This could include requiring platforms to disclose how algorithms may amplify misleading information or foreign disinformation campaigns.
- Implementing a requirement for platforms to offer users more control over the types of content they see could help mitigate the impact of harmful algorithms.
We can do so by:
Utilizing Official Channels:
- Encourage state and local election officials to use social media as a primary tool for voter education, providing accurate information about registration, polling locations, and voting procedures. This could help counter misinformation spread by unofficial sources.
- For example, election officials could host live Q&A sessions on platforms like Facebook and Instagram to address voter concerns directly.
Partnerships with Trusted Organizations:
- Collaborate with non-partisan organizations dedicated to voter education to disseminate accurate information through social media channels. These partnerships can leverage existing networks to reach a broader audience.
- Programs like "Vote.org" or "Rock the Vote" can serve as reliable sources for voters seeking information about upcoming elections.
Promoting Digital Literacy:
- Implement programs aimed at increasing digital literacy among voters, teaching them how to identify credible sources of information online and recognize misinformation. This could be integrated into high school curricula or community workshops.
- Local libraries and community centers could offer classes on navigating social media responsibly and understanding the electoral process.
Fact-Checking Initiatives:
- Establish partnerships with fact-checking organizations to monitor social media platforms for misinformation related to elections actively. Social media companies could be required to work with these organizations to ensure that misleading content is addressed promptly.
- Platforms might implement features that allow users to report suspected misinformation, which would then be reviewed by fact-checkers before further action is taken.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is poised to replace nearly all White Collar jobs in America in the next 5-20 years. We must call for AI oversight and tangible transition opportunities to AI-enabled workforce.
Short-term actions:
- Mandatory AI training programs: Require employers to provide comprehensive AI training to all employees. This would introduce workers to key AI terminology, implementation in the workplace, and effective AI prompt creation.
- AI integration oversight: Establish a federal task force to monitor and guide the integration of AI in workplaces, ensuring that AI is used to AUGMENT AND NOT REPLACE employees. This could include regular audits of companies' AI usage and its impact on employment.
- AI-assisted upskilling initiatives: Implement programs across high schools and community colleges to educate students on efficient use of AI. This would help current workers develop AI skills relevant to their industries.
- Worker-centric AI governance: Develop frameworks for Responsible and Ethical AI use in the workplace to ensure AI implementation prioritizes worker well-being and job security.
Long-term actions:
- AI-enhanced apprenticeship programs: Develop nationwide apprenticeship programs that use AI-powered virtual and augmented reality for immersive, hands-on training. This would prepare workers for future jobs while leveraging AI as a tool for skill development.
- Continuous AI education system: Create a national lifelong learning platform that uses AI to personalize training paths for workers throughout their careers, adapting to changing skill requirements and technological advancements.
- AI-human collaboration incentives: Implement tax incentives for companies that demonstrate effective integration of AI to enhance human worker productivity rather than replace jobs.
- Universal AI literacy program: Establish a comprehensive K-12 and adult education initiative to ensure all citizens have a foundational understanding of AI, its applications, and how to work alongside AI systems.
